sketchercising

After I walked at the park yesterday, I did this quick sketch in my small watercolor moleskine. I'm trying to get back in the habit of walking everyday, but not today, it's raining "cats and dogs." There is a group of sketchers that walk and sketch and they call it sketchercising.

yay...it's finally september!

I'm so glad August is behind us...I'm not a summer person at all! I've noticed the past couple of days, that the breeze is from the North and the humidity is lower. I can't wait until I need a long-sleeve shirt and jeans...now that's my kind of weather.

On July 21st, I spilled coffee in my MacBook while opening the e-mail that contained the amount of our electric bill. I was so stunned that while trying to place my mug on the coaster on my desk, I spilled a small amount into the keyboard. Grrrrr! The keys became all sticky and by the afternoon the keys wouldn't do anything, so off I went to the apple store the next day. Luckily, they only had to replace the keyboard, and it was ready the next morning! I realized this past weekend that the dvd slot wasn't operating correctly, so off to the apple store again. I did this sketch yesterday while waiting to talk to one of the geeky guys. He was really nice and was able to fix it within 10 minutes. Hopefully, I won't be visiting the Genius Bar for a long time. Oh, and I no longer drink anything while using my MacBook!

dreaming...

I decided to take a break from all the cleaning and purging today. I keep asking DH, "Are you sure you can't transfer to Colorado?" I have lived here in this heat infested place all my life...I need a change of scenery. I think the heat is getting to my brain, as soon as I saw these snow boots online, I felt a need to sketch them.

random sunday...

It finally rained!  After I fed the chickens this morning, I grabbed my camera and went back outside.  These are raindrops on the garden gate.

I sketched this Wednesday down by the creek...this house is on our side of the creek and all I can see is the rooftop. I'm hoping the weather will stay warmer, so I can get out more with my sketchbook.  Sketched in my 5x8 wc moleskine.
I took this picture on the other side of the berm...all you can see is the top of our roof.  I love to go wandering around in the woods.  This is about where I was standing when I did the sketch above.  
DH made this boot scrapper for me...I definitely needed it this morning.
