randomness

this little guy hung out on my art room window all day yesterday...this morning he was gone.
My latest pair of socks...the pattern is called seaweed and the yarn's name is sea monster.
This is sitting on my table right now...I'm not happy with that face at all...if there wasn't a face on the other side, I would trash it! I've also started a necklace...the charm says "sisters".

I was looking at some of my sea glass and noticed this piece is shaped like a heart.
I finished these loopy lace socks before Ike payed us a visit.
I made these earrings before Ike. I really like the oxidized look, but boy does liver of sulfur stink!

I probably won't post again until next week...DH is taking tomorrow off, so another 3 days of cleaning up after Ike...fun, fun!

feeling a little rusty...

I finally had sometime yesterday to sit down and paint...I felt a little rusty, but I like how this little face turned out...I'm thinking about painting a larger version of it.

ike was a bad bad boy...

Our comcast service was finally restored last night...I will be changing phone and internet services just as soon as possible. Our electricity was restored a week ago, but comcast dropped the ball...as usual. Hurricane Ike left one big mess in our yard...luckily, no damage to our house. We will be cleaning for awhile. Those are baby squirrels in the box...we could only save one...we didn't have a clue as to what we needed to do to help them and without internet service, we couldn't do any research...luckily, I was able to contact a wildlife lady in Friendswood and we were able to take "Ike" to her last Monday...she was going to start him on antibiotics and keep him in an incubator until she could release him back to nature.

random monday

I've been missing faces, so I did a quick one for my little 5x7 face book this weekend.
Fencepost and wire on the edge of our property...
I plan on knitting a scarf with this yarn...it has random thicknesses.
An azalea bloom...
Hanging around.

The weather was perfect this weekend...very little humidity and cool in the mornings. Yesterday, I dugout out all my fall quilts...just waiting for the temperature to drop, so I can open all the windows and sit under a quilt and knit or curl up with a good book and a cup of hot tea.

feels like an autumn day...

A sign of fall.
Last of my summer tomatoes.
A pair of nest earrings...I just need to wrap the ear wires
I made this bracelet out of silk cording, sterling silver chain and mop coins...I love the colors!
The beginning of another abstract painting for Kris. We went to CS on Sunday and took Britt her Autumn Path painting...she loves it!
