mmm...food!

Chance couldn't eat any food for 24 hours on Friday...he thought he was dying! I had to take Buckles to the vet this morning...he has the same virus. Poor babies!

yard work study

I started this study Monday while Buckles was having his surgery...today, I added a few more touches to it...not really happy with it, but oh well. 7x5 oil on canvas panel. I'm hoping to paint a small study at least 5 times a week...just as soon as things settle down around here! I had to take Chance to the vet this morning because he has been vomiting for the past couple of days...this morning he vomited blood, so off to the vet we went. They had to give him an IV, 2 shots, take blood and sent home more meds plus he can't have anything to eat until tomorrow and then he can only have a tablespoon of this bland food every 2 hours. He is not a happy camper...I can't leave water or any food out, so I have to remind myself to offer Buckles water and food. Fun Fun!!!

just the tip

DH took this picture of Buckles a few weeks ago...I think he looks so cute when he sticks just the tip of his tongue out! He's having a hard time staying calm and not playing with Chance this week...I'm having to give him tranquilizers.

double eyelet rib

This pattern repeat is easy to remember without looking at the pattern. This is my fourth pair of socks to knit this year...my goal is to knit at least one pair of socks a month. I love the feel of knitted socks!

I'm not sure what kind of flower this is...I think it's a butterfly lily, but not sure. These flowers grow in the esplanade on our street.

finished heart socks

I finished my heart socks last night...they fit like a glove! I started another pair last night...they are called eyelet lace and the pattern is a lot simpler than this heart pattern.

one hour study

I haven't painted in oils for awhile, so I decided to get them out today. I painted this in one hour from a photo I took on Sunday of two trees in our backyard....I liked the way the sunlight was hitting the trees. It's not very good, but it felt great to get the oils out again! 5x7 on canvas board.

We boiled crawfish yesterday...K was teasing Chance with one...I would hate to see what would have happened had she not pulled it away from him!

I love snail mail! I received this sock yarn from http://woolgirl.com/yesterday...I just love the different colors and the feel of it! B wants me to show her how to knit socks while she is home...she loves to knit...almost as much as I do!

chili

I made this chili yesterday...I've been making the same recipe for over 23 years. We've tried different recipes, but I always go back to this one. B&K drove home last night for a few days...it's their spring break and K always wants chili. They both ate a bowl at 11p.m. last night...I wouldn't be able to sleep if I ate anything at that time of night!

first heart sock

I finished the first heart sock last night, so I put it on a sock blocker and took it outside to take a picture. I really like the toe up method on circular needles and the Russian bind-off!

I'm knitting this pair of socks on 2 circular needles from the toe up...I really like this technique, so far...I can try the socks on as I go...they fit perfect!

all wrapped up

Buckles loves to be wrapped up in a blanket...this one stays in a chair in the living room and he wraps up in it and sits by me when I knit.

top dog

Chance was mad at me for putting his top dog t-shirt on him, so he decided to sulk in what he thinks is HIS chair!

blueberry coffee cake

The boys and I were out running errands this morning, so I decided to stop at Starbucks...I haven't been there in about 3 months! I ordered their honey latte and blueberry coffee cake. I haven't been sketching much lately...I've been spending more time knitting, so I decided to sketch my coffee cake.

It's gorgeous outside today! Spring is definitely in the air!


I'm finishing up the second sock for DH...if I can get him to model them for me, I'll post a picture of them...in the meantime, I have picked out the yarn and the pattern for my next pair of socks.
