Chance

B&K aired up this pool today so Chance could splash around in it. He was having fun until *B started splashing water on his back! That was the end of pool play for Chance...he only wants his legs wet! He's so funny about getting wet!

Sketch...Latte

6x6 Raffine sketchbook

I went to Starbucks this morning for my weekly Vanilla Latte and blueberry coffee cake. Yum! Looks like I will be sketching left handed for a few more weeks. Yes, I know the cup is leaning to the left...I'm doing the best I can with only one hand. I've been reading a book and watching a DVD by watercolorist Charles Reid...he splatters watercolor on all of his paintings.

Not A Happy Camper!!!!

This morning I went to the hospital for x-rays of my finger...hoping to get these pins out! You probably can tell by my title that the pins are still in my finger!! GRRRRRR!!! The doctor said he would take them out Friday...he was afraid I would not be careful and possible re-brake it! Yes, it's a little strange for me to take pictures of my x-rays, but I take pictures of just about everything! No sketching today...I'm too mad!

Sketch...Oyster Pail

6x6 Raffine sketchbook

Your probably wondering why I'm calling this take-out container a "oyster pail?" Well, I was watching the food network channel yesterday and there was a program on about the history of take-out containers...oysters used to be placed in these containers a long time go...I learn something new every time I watch food network. We ate at P.F. Chang's Friday night after *K's graduation and I brought my crispy honey chicken home in this container. I really like splattering watercolor...can you tell?

Tomorrow I get my pins out of my finger!!! Yay!!!!

Sketch...Another Lefty

4x6 Aquebee sketchbook...I like sketching on the Raffine paper better. I decided to sketch these flip flop that belong to one of my daughters, so I could use some of my new cerulean blue watercolor paint. I like this shade of blue...it reminds me of summer. The sunscreen bottle is actually white (boring), so I decided to paint it orange since it's blues compliment. You can definitely tell I used my left hand!

Sketch...Baguette

*K graduates today! I knew I wasn't going to have much time for sketching today, so I sketched this piece of Harvest Grain baguette bread...took me about 20 minutes. I used my new 6x6 Raffine sketchbook that was delivered by UPS yesterday from Jerry's ArtArama...I love it when I see the UPS or FedEx truck stop in my driveway...they usually have my art supplies I ordered! I order most of my art stuff online...it's cheaper. Jerry's and DickBlick are great online art stores!

Please excuse my terrible photography...it's hard to hold a camera with one hand and take a picture!

Wrapped

When I went outside this morning, I found *K's 4-runner wrapped! I'm sure it was Kacey and Rachel. She has graduation practice this morning...one more day of HS.

Correction...I just found out that my nephew made this mess!

Sketch...Garden Items

I sketched these items outside on the picnic table that DH built about 10 years ago. I love to sketch outside! I used my 4x6 Aquabee sketchbook...I took a picture of my small travel watercolor palette, waterbrush (that I fill the barrel with water), 8B pencil, paper towel and my green bag that all these sketching items fit in. My doctor gave me this bag with vitamins in it. I can toss this bag in my purse and sketch anywhere!

5 days until I get these pins out of my finger! Hopefully!

Homemade Salsa

I did this sketch in my Aquabee 4x6 sketchbook. I've been using an 8B pencil to sketch with...pen is way to hard to steady in my left hand. I did use a Faber-Castell sepia pen for the lettering on the jar and a couple of lines on the lid.
Some of the peppers used in the salsa.

DH burning his hands peeling Roma tomatoes...I usually do this part...my hands can take the heat! We made 10 jars of salsa on Sunday...well, I actually just supervised!

I've set somethings I use in the garden on our table on the patio...I plan on sketching them tomorrow.

Tractor Sketch

I did this sketch from a picture I took at Froberg's Farm a few months ago. I love the color red...all the greens make the red really stand out. This is my first tractor sketch. I'm hoping to get outside and sketch sometime this week. I prefer to sketch from life instead of a photo...you can see so much more.

Sailboat Sketch

I painted this watercolor sketch from a picture I took on the Bolivar ferry this past November. It sure is hard drawing and painting with my left hand. I should get these pins out of my finger on the 29th of May...then I have to go to therapy 3 times a week! Grrr! Hopefully, I'll be back to normal in about a month.

K received her acceptance letter to A&M this past week and graduates from high school Friday. It's hard to believe both my daughters will be gone in the fall!

Left Handed

I have missed my art so much! I decided to try my left hand and use watercolors since its not so messy. I did this sketch from a post card we received in the mail. I wish I was on that beach right now relaxing! I know it looks like a 5 year-old did it, but I don't care.

I've Missed My Blog!

This contraption is on my hand! I'm not able to use this hand at all!!!! I'm having to use my left hand to type this!!! It sucks big time!!!
Two pins in my finger! This is my right hand!!!! GRRRRRRRRR!

At the hospital before surgery! I had to stay in the hospital over night! K said Chance was sooo depressed because I wasn't home...my poor baby!

On May 1st, Chance and I went on our morning walk...we took a different route (trying to get away from all the traffic on our street) and I didn't see a piece of raised sidewalk...I tripped and fell and broke my finger! GRRRRRRR!
