Red House By The Ocean

This is a pastel study I started last week and did a little tweaking today...I'm still not happy with the window. It's 9x12 on watercolor paper with three coats of pumice and gesso. (I just realized I need to turn the date and time off my camera). One of my goals for the new year is to paint or sketch everyday and post my work here.

One of my first pastel studies

I walk everyday with my Yorkie and this is one of the scenes that we pass by daily. It is just beyond a creek. I love how the sun shines on it first thing in the morning! It is painted on a 9x12 piece of watercolor paper with 3 coats of gesso/pumice. I just wanted to see what it was like to make my own surface.

First Post

I finally set-up this blog! I have been wanting to start a blog for several months...just haven't found the time. This is one of my New Year's resolutions. I will be posting my artwork, photographs and thoughts.
